Go for a drive up the Gunflint Trail, and you never know what you'll see. We were surprised by this little group one day in May 1991 as we were returning to our campsite on Gunflint Lake from Grand Marais. Usually when you see these guys, they scatter as soon as you get close to them. Not this time, though. They stayed right there while I took the picture, and were still there as we drove off.
This photo was taken with a Honeywell Pentax SP-1000 (Spotmatic) camera using an 80-200mm zoom lens and Kodacolor 200 film.
The digital image was created by submitting the photo to AOL's Picture Web. It was then converted and retouched using Adobe Photo Deluxe and Paint Shop Pro for Windows.
