Canoeing
the Gunflint

Gunflint Lake is located near the end of the Gunflint Trail - a fifty some mile long road that stretches from Grand Marais to Seagull Lake on the Canadian border. This shot was taken in May 1991 from the Gunflint Pines Resort, a commercial campground that we were staying at. I went down to the lake to take a sunset picture, and these two guys just happened to be canoeing by. The other side of the lake that you see is Canada.

This photo was taken with a Honeywell Pentax SP-1000 (Spotmatic) camera using an 80-200mm zoom lens and Ektar 100 film.

The digital image was created by having it put on on Photo CD, then converting and retouching it using Corel Photo Paint 5 and Paint Shop Pro for Windows.
