Explore Minnesota Split Rock
Lighthouse

SPL1400.JPG
This is probably one of the most often photographed spots in Minnesota. Split Rock Lighthouse is located about 45 miles or so up the shore from Duluth. It was built in 1909 and was operated until the mid-1960's. It is now the popular Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, and a historical monument.

This photo was taken with a Honeywell Pentax SP-1000 (Spotmatic) camera using an 80-200mm zoom lens and Kodak Royal Gold 400 film.

The digital image was created by submitting the photo to AOL's Picture Web. It was then converted and retouched using Adobe Photo Deluxe and Paint Shop Pro for Windows.
