Other: I haven’t changed much since high school, although I am somewhat older now. I still prefer the outdoors to the in, and wildlife to people. Served in Alaska in the Army, and worked for the VA for 28 years, and I now enjoy being retired. My fondest memories of high school days have little to do with the school and everything to do with Woodlake Nature Center, where I spent many peaceful hours. Twylla, I think you should know that the steamy relationship we never had is long gone, but thanks for the memories anyway.

Other: In Sept. I will have been married 30 years to a wonderful man, Tim (graduated from Washburn) and have two great kids. Our oldest is Chris who is 28 years old. He is on the USA Bandy Team and has lived in Sweden for two bandy seasons playing for them. Our daughter is 25 years old and is living in Manhattan, NY getting her masters in business.

Never thought I'd leave the big city but we moved from Minneapolis 6 years ago to Santiago, MN (near Becker)on 20 acres of woods. We built our own home--pounded every nail ourselves. We spend our free time with our two dogs, several geese, ducks, turkeys and chickens.

I am the head secretary at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, MN. Commute 60 miles one way.

Other: After graduating from Richfield in 72, I went to the University of Minnesota and then to the University of Arizona. Graduating with a MS in Hydrology, I was hired by the U.S. Geological Survey at Rolla, Missouri. There I met a girl and told her I was an heir to the Norwegian crown. She bought the line and married me. She is starting to suspect I lied because I have no desire to visit Norway.

After 10 years in Missouri I finally succeeded in upsetting all my supervisors and was transferred to Bismarck, North Dakota (also known as South Saskatchewan). After 15 years in North Dakota, all the people I upset either retired or died, thus I was able to move to Helena, Montana. Working for the Federal government, I did not have much money, but I was able to get a great deal on a cabin in the mountains, previously owned by Ted Kazinski (just kidding, Ted Turner, just kidding).

I have a son. When he was a baby, bouncing on my knee, I imagined him as the President of the United States. As he grew through his teens, my expectations changed to hoping that he would not be a burden to society. He joined the Navy because he hated camping and he wanted to get out of North Dakota. My wife tells everyone that he is floating around in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier with our future in his hands. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Seriously, I was hoping to leave my email address so the people I hung around with and have not seen after 1976 would drop me a line to prove they are still alive. We’ll meet in Fort Peck.

Other: I am working fulltime in treatment center for chemical use for woman. I have two grown sons. Both sons are married. My oldest son is at the University of Minnesota working on his Masters. My youngest son is married and has two daughters. My oldest grandaughter plays basketball, hockey and baseball. My youngest grandaughter is 5 and she will be attending kindergarden in the fall. I have done alot of traveling since high school. I didn't go off to college after high school. I attended college a few years later. I wanted to to travel first. I was not popular in high school and school wasn't fun. I was shy and picked on. I guess that some of teenage stuff any way we are all adults in our fifties. The years go fast after high school. It seems like yesterday I couldn't wait until I was done with high school and wanted to be 18. Now I am 53 going on 54. Other: Married for the 2nd time 14 years. I have 4 daughters, 2 married, 1 living in Scottsdale Az. and the youngest is engaged to be married in a couple of years. I have 2 granddaugters and one on the way, and the way my family has been running it will most likly be another girl.
I have been working in the copier business since 1985 after moving back from Monticello Mn. I still keep up with a couple of my friends since kindergarten(what a long time) and I work with about6 people that also graduated from Richfield(bad part is I use to babysit one of them) I have been looking for one of my best friends from high school for a long time her name is Shirley Maas, the last time I heard from her she was living in Az. I also asked my daughter to look.
I have missed the last 3 reunions due to my children graduating from high school and college and a wedding.

Other: I went into the military in 1971 with Keith Gilmore(Richfield H.S.)and served 16 months in Vietnam. Came home and went to college and then worked for Van Clemens & Co, later R.J. Stiechen (both Mpls)as a stock broker for a period of four years. At that point I was hired by the U.S. Army to work with Army Reserve units for full time unit support.
I reside in Walker Minnesota (Leech Lake)(Cass County), commute to work in Brainerd (60 Mi), it is worth it as I love the northland and this area up here. I never married.. thats the way it goes I guess. I enjoy working around the home on projects that never end...
I still play guitar and too close to my land is Moon Dance Jam fair grounds (Music Festival in July)for which I hail with Van Halen riffs from my patio deck because I am still a radical 47 year old (punk), but I am still hip.

Other: After graduating from Richfield High School in 1972 I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for two years and then attended Bethel College in St. Paul, MN where I graduated in 1976. I majored in History/Social Studies/Secondary Education.

I taught at Howard Lake/Waverly, MN High School for awhile and then
decided to move into adult learning. In 1987 I began my career with
the Minnesota Department of Transportation where I am a Training Administrator for the Mn/DOT Office of Technical Support.

I met my bride, Roxie, in 1984 and we were married in 1986. We have two grown kids, Tiffany and Ryan.

I helped with the Richfield High School 50 Year Reunion in fall, 2004. It was a real highlight of my life. That event made me appreciate the people in our class of 1972 far more than I ever did when we were at RHS. You are an awesome group of people!

What can I say about life and living? Well, it's important to live each day to the fullest for we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Other: After High School I went to college for about ten years. Partied a lot, studied art and mechanical engineering a lot. Got married to a beautiful Minnesota farm girl. Had the best wedding I've ever been to (just like everyone else, right?) After that I got a job working for an architectural & engineering firm, then moved on to a manufacturing company. I had the opportunity to travel all over the world and sit in on meetings at the top of the corporate ladder. Then one day I woke up in a meeting and wondered what the hell I was doing there! I was amazed that I was sitting there at all and I knew that it was not the place for me. It must have been that motorcycle trip I took out west the year before. The freedom got to me so I found my way out of the the corporate world and am starting my own design/build home building & remodeling company. I love it! I get to spend time with my two adopted boys (Jeff 12 and Captain Nato 9) even though I'm busier than hell. My wife Carolyn and I reconnected as well (never divorced, just some how strangers in the same house.) Now I thank the big guy every day that I got my family to spend time with. My values have changed a bit. I like art, architecture, building things, motorcycles, photography, the creation, my family and my freedom. I'm trying to stick as close to those things as I can!

I went to all the class reunions and had a lot of fun at all of them. It has been great to talk with my old class mates from time to time - I always thought it would be great if we could have a Richfield High day just one more time, you know, have the reunion right at the school. I think we had 947 kids in our class, it would be great to get them all back there just one more time!

Thanks for this great web site! I hope a lot of people take the time to reflect on the days since high school.

Thanks to so much experience with crazyness in Richfield, I'm currently managing a project to put in new Electronic Health Records for the Mental Health Clinics of Hennepin County. My new favorite phrase is "we're from the government and we're here to help you."

My current hobby seems to be buying power tools and then figuring out what kind of trouble I can get into with them.
