The Year 1975:
- The city of Saigon is surrendered and remaining Americans are evacuated, ending the Vietnam War.
- Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge take over Cambodia.
- American merchant ship Mayaguez is siezed by Cambodian forces.
- President Ford escapes two assasination attempts.
- VCR's are developed in Japan by Sony (Betamax) and Matsushita (VHS).
- Saturday Night Live premieres on NBC with George Carlin as the first guest host.
- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest sweeps the top Oscars.
- The Minnesota Vikings lose to Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl.
- 1988 graduates enter kindergarten.
- 1993/1994 graduates are born.
