Message posted on Fri, 10 Nov 2000 I am trying to contact Mr. Johnson. He was actually my 7th grade math teacher. I met him again in my senior year 1988. I would like the opportunity to thank him for everything that he did for me. He knew that my father was a single parent and a very busy man. Mr. Johnson gave up his lunch time (and so did I ) when my homework was not done. I dont know if I have found the place to look or not. This is the only listing for R.H.S. I could find. Be at Peace Message posted on Wed, 20 Sep 2000 The very recent news of Warren Winden's demise at the hands of a home invader, was brought to the 35th Reunion 7/31/99 by Bill Overmoe. Is there any information from the Minneapolis Police on this case? In 1964, Warren was living in the 4300 block of Aldrich Ave South. He worked as a System Management Consultant. Mary is Warren's wife (now, widow), and Warren was father to Mary's three children: Shannon, Tanya, and Anton. For the 1989 25th RHS Reunion, Warren said to remember = "Somewhere over the Rainbow",...but to please forget = "Hurdles"...(whatever these mean, for you in the know). In the Scholastic Honors and Awards for 1963-64, Warren was honored for VARSITY-DEBATE (Senior and Junior Year), and The SPEECH AWARD "District and Regional Festival Winner" (Senior Year), and SPEECH AWARD "Distrct Contest Winner" (Junior Year). Warren also served as a gym Usher his Junior Year. Warren is another very significant and unique individual who it would have been great to know better. Hey class of '81-where are you all? Message posted on Sun, 10 Sep 2000 Hey All-hopefully Class of '81'ers out there! I found this site by accident and have been out of touch with my home state for so many years now-that it was a sudden jolt to my brain-whoa!~class of '81-wow!~almost 20yrs ago!(suddenly feeling kinda old) Anyways, i'm living a fantastic life on a remote island off the isolated but very beautiful far south coast of Alaska. I'm a single parent raising a beautiful daughter(age 12). My life is a frontiersman's life-almost a bygone lifestyle-I have a shellfish farm (oysters, clams, mussels, scallops & shrimp) that makes ends meet.(no i don't live in an igloo-i have a very nice place right on the beach w/ electricity, dishnetwork sattelite tv and, obviously, a pc w/ internet connection) But other than that, my life for the last 12yrs has been a simple one here among the salmon, grizzly bears, glaciers and tallest coastal mountains of the world in this eternally beautiful wilderness that is found only in the Last Frontier; Alaska. In the summer I guide out-of-state sportfishermen for salmon & halibut, in the fall, big game hunters for bear, moose and mtn. goat. Much of what goes on the dinner table is what i hunt and gather. But as I broused through the many postings here on this site, my mind began to drift back through the years, back to my boyhood days there in minnesota-richfield...how i'd forgotten so much...but the memories, they began to slowly flood back to me... and how precious they are! Of all of them I remember a special gal by the name of Barb Brink. I can't even imagine where she could be or what she's doing now so many years later...but my love for her has never waned, still burns in me all these many years later. If anyone knows of her whereabouts, or how she is...please write me and let me know. Barbie B., if you're out there and should see this, please know that you have a special place in my heart that can never be lost or replaced by anyone. You were my first true love...and..probably..my last true love. Please write and let me know that you're ok. I Love You Still. While the memories may be so very distant, my reflections of them now refresh me; over 20yrs later, like an ocean breeze as i look back. We feel it was a huge success, except for the fact that our 20th reunion had 448 people and the 25th only had 210. We had to plan ahead, and had budgeted for around 350 people. To insure that we would have the hotel we had to make a down payment of $1500.00 September of 1999. After the 20th reunion we had $1200.00 in the bank which with the interest earned, paid for the downpayment and overhead such as stamps etc. As of now, we are $1424.00 short of what we owe the hotel. We are asking our classmates to make donations to make up this difference and possibly allow us to have extra money in the account to start saving for the next reunion in 2005. Whatever you feel that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated, and we will update this message as the money starts coming in so that all of you will be aware of what is going on. With about 8 people on the committee that helped to find people, it was impossible in some instances to find everyone. We did try and look in phone books, on the internet etc but unfortunately out of 700+ invitations we sent out, about 150 came back and these people were never found. I live in Roscoe, Illinois after many years in California and one year in Toronto. I have two daughters and three stepsons and one grandson 1 year old - all in Calif. My husband Don and I are into old cars (we have a 1936 Ford 3-window and a 55 Bel Air Chevy) and we like skeet. I still fish and belonged to a women's sport fishing club in Calif. One of my best friends is still Gay Lohse (now Marie Feidt) who lives in Bloomington and we see each other several times a year. My relatives all still live in the Twin Cities so I am up there a lot. I hope you will come to Richfield High School on Friday night, August 25, anytime from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and see what the school currently looks like. I have been in touch with the current principal (Paul Reckewey) and the current band director (Colleen Fischer) who are helping me to line up a nice tour. There will be a guest book to sign (and see if your friends are there or have stopped by), and refreshments. Please tell your friends, as this information was not detailed on the reunion invitations. Because the invitations went out a bit late, we are still looking for a few more golfers for our RHS Golf Classic II during the day on Saturday, August 26th. It's early enough in the day that you will have time to "get glamorous" for the evening bash. I am not a great golfer (working mom with 2 kids), but I had a blast playing at the 20th! We use "best ball" (and actually used mine once or twice!), and we have some great souvenirs and prizes for all ability levels. You don't need a partner, we'll make sure you're in a fun group!! A 35 yr Class Reunion Message posted on Fri, 4 Aug 2000 I was curious to know if there was anyone out there that might know of a 35 year class reunion for the year 2001? I have not been to a reunion for my class ( 66 ) since the 10 year reunion back in 1976, held at the Hotel Sofetel on 494 and Hyw 100. It would be great to see some of the old faces and find out what you are all doing now. I live in Iowa, but travel to Minneapolis almost every month to see family and friends.
