Martha Decker, creator of this Website, has offered her support upon completion. A couple other Vets, Jerry Cornell and Dave Knutson, are now on board. Candy Smith (Hinz) is giving me her support also. I have never done this before and I'm doing it by the numbers. Help me with some ideas and support, email those ideas ASAP. God speed to one and all. Richfield Bar Crawl
Message posted on Thu, 18 Oct 2007

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children over the age of 21:

Tis the season for the Fall Bar Crawl! The Fourth Annual Richfield Fall Bar Crawl will be held on Saturday, November 17th. As always, we promote no drinking and driving so make sure you buddy up with a sober driver since not all bars in Richfield are in the same area of town. Bass's Vanagon will be making the tour again this year so let me know if you want to hitch a ride with us in the Back to the Future Van.

As of right now, the schedule is the same as last Spring. We may change it around a little because there's a rumor that a Buffalo Wild Wings might open up on 66th and Cedar before the bar crawl. If it's true, it will be right next to the new Roundabout that Richfield put in to try to look sophisticated. Once I find out more info, I'll post the schedule.

A message to Bruce Stone - I have been thinking about my first ride in your Porsche, and I remember being in a little red sports car. Actually, I have thought often about that little car and the fun I had riding with you - but sometimes it takes me awhile to remember the good old days. Thanks for the memories. Bryl King and the Lil Dabl do Yas "Rock'n' Roll Reunion
Message posted on Tue, 11 Sep 2007

Thatıs right, Bryl King and The Lil Dab'l Do Yas (the band from the 1974 Richfield high school talent show) will be Rockin and Rollin'em again at the Richfield American Legion in the main ballroom on Saturday September 29th at their "Third annual Rock 'n' Roll Reunion ". Doors open at 8pm and music starts at 9... It's always a great Richfield party!... It is sort of like a class reunion with NO class at all!... It is also a little like Teen Club where the boys would be on one side of the room and the girls on the other and you would be afraid to ask someone to dance. But, in this case The band is worse than the Teen club bands and you know, that was also 39 + years ago so get over it!... There will be a special guest appearance by "Teen King" of Teen King and the Princes fame... plus other special surprises including appearances (hopefully) by former band members and last and certainly "LEAST" a HUGE dance contest!... The band has been practicing extra hard for this year,s event... Well, actually thatıs not true because our band motto always was "It is more important to look "COOL" than sound good" and though we never really achieved either, it was a lot of fun. So we hope you will "BE THERE OR BE SQUARE" and get ready to Rock and Roll one more time to the many moods and dulcid tones of Bryl King and the Lil Dab'l Do Yas at the Richfield American Legion (66th and Portland) September 29th doors open at 8 p.m...... Oh by the way, we need your help in a big way!... please pass on this message to any and all Richfield connections you may have. It would be appreciated! It won't make the band sound any better but it would be appreciated!... Need advance tickets or more information? Click HERE or send e-mail questions to:

Oh ,there is one more thing you need to know, that's our other motto: "The more you drink ,the better we sound! But the more we drink the better you look!"

Message posted on Sat, 21 Jul 2007

Greetings Everyone,

RE: RHS Yearbooks

Last year, an RHS teacher was cleaning out his home for a move into retirement. He found many RHS Yearbooks and did not want to throw them away. They were offered to me. Now they are being offered to you. I have one (1) yearbook for each of the following years.

1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984

There is no charge. You just need to come pick them up.

If you know of any other teacher / staff of RHS that would like to get rid of their yearbooks, please have them call me. I will gladly make sure they go to an alumni member that would appreciate a copy.

Memorable RHS Class of 1972 35 Year Reunion
Message posted on Wed, 11 Jul 2007

It doesn't get any better than this...
The Richfield High School Class of 1972 celebrated our 35 Year Reunion in style during the 4th of July week. We sponsored a car in the July 3 Richfield Classic Car Show and a 'Henry's Hamburger' float during Richfield's 4th of July parade. We gathered at the Steak and Ale on Friday night, July 6th. On Saturday morning we had a memorial service with family members in the Richfield High School auditorium to honor all of our friends from the Class of '72 who have passed away.
We had a memorable evening together on Saturday evening. We talked to each other and laughed alot. Former RHS teacher Fred Keller spoke to us and Dave and Jean Johnston provided some great entertainmment during a 'Ole and Lena' skit. Sterling provided us some great music and some of us danced all night.
On Sunday we gathered together at Bush Lake Park for a picnic.
This was indeed a full week to remember.
Thanks to all who attended and helped with this fantastic event!

Class of '93 - 15 year reunion?
Message posted on Thu, 28 Jun 2007

Hello, classmates!

As the head of your reunion planning committee, I wanted to let you all know that planning is underway for our 15-year reunion. However, before I go any further I wanted to get an idea of what kind of attendance we'd be looking at. It seems some people would rather wait until our 20-year reunion and skip the 15, and I'd really hate to put any more time and effort into this process if the general feeling is that we should wait.

I currently have June 28, 2008 on hold at the Holiday Inn in Bloomington, off of 35W and 94th St. It's easily accessible for everyone and their rates were very competitive. I know cost was a big issue with our last reunion and I'm hoping to improve on that for our next one, whether it's at 15 or 20 years.

Your feedback is very important as we make a final decision on whether or not to have a 15-year reunion. I'd really appreciate honest opinions on your likelihood of attending. None of us want to waste time or money on this if the general interest isn't there.

I hope this finds you doing well and I'd love to hear what everyone is up to. You can reach me at rhs93reunion@gmail.com

Thanks in advance for your help...I look forward to hearing from you ASAP. I have one week to hold the banquet space with no financial obligation, so please keep the replies coming!

Take care,
Beth (Bostrom) Lankey

P.S. If you are in touch with any classmates who may not have received this, please forward them the message. Thanks!
