Barron, Ronald Date Submitted: Wed, 1 Oct 2003 Personal Email Address: barronski@aol.com Work Email Address: Homepage: Where Am I Living Now?: Bloomington, MN Other: I taught English at East Junior High from 1962 to 1978, at which time I transferred to the high school. I taught English at the high school from 1978 to 2000. I am currently keeping busy by writing a series of articles about Minnesota writers for the Minnesota Council of Teachers of English newsletter, working on a family genealogy for both sides of my family, collecting and reading books by Minnesota writers (I have roughly 1300 in my collection), and providing day care for my youngest daughter's Bichon puppy. I also work roughly four months a year for Data Recognition, a company which scores student assessment tests for various states. Most of the states are pretty good, but the papers from Louisianna certainly make me glad I taught in Minnesota. I have nothing but fond memories of Richfield High School. Dick Maas may have exaggerated a little when he claimed RHS was the best high school in the state, but he didn't exaggerate very much. I consider myself fortunate to have taught at such a fine high school and in a school district which was so pro school. Part of the reason I retired was because I started to see an erosiion of the quality of the school and the support of the community. I wanted to remember Richfield when it was at the top. I would love to hear from former students--I know it has been a pleasant experience when I accidentally run into some of you in unlikely situations. Rasch, Carroll Last Updated: Wed, 6 Sep 2006 Personal Email Address: CHRasch42@juno.com Work Email Address: CHRasch42@juno.com Homepage: Where Am I Living Now?: Other: I taught History and English at RHS from 1970 through 1979. My teaching friends and students are so memorable. I miss teaching American History and Shakespeare. That Senior English year was a little dark with "MacBeth" and Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" along with "Hamlet." I think "1984" was on the list too. I really miss those great football, soccer and hockey teams. But, most of all, I miss the wonderful women of the Downhill Ski Team. You were the best. Believe me, it was NOT my coaching. You were great on skis. You were represented in the State Tournament every year. I remember the great scholars in the Model United Nations program each year too. It was great to chaperone you to Winnepeg all of those years. Thanks to Mr. Little and the Rotary Club for giving you that opportunity. I miss Ben and Hendy, Doss and Kopesky, Stu Starner and Eloise. What a great bunch. Looking back, the decade that included teaching at Richfield is the most fun for all the reasons. Life was good. |
