Comments: I was interested in finding some activities in Duluth for bowling and
stumbled on the calender of events for Duluth, well when I first moved
here 7 years ago I found it to be about 25 years behind, well it seemed
that Duluth caught up 24, Its nice to remember what went on last year
at this time, so I guess I will have to keep checking the calenders
that is not in the nursing homes around here as they like to keep
track of those things, so if you could check the calender and change
the events to a more modern form, I would not feel as if I was in the
first stage of alzheimer's.

Comments: We have been going to Grand Marais every year since 1972, our honeymoon. My husband went to Grand Marais every year as a child and teenager. You might say we have Grand Marais in our hearts. Truly one says of Oakie, that's short for Okkelberg, my husband, you can take the boy out of Grand Marais, but you can't take Grand Marais out of the boy. We have lived in Colorado for the past 25 years, but vacation regularly to good ol Minnesota.

We will spend out 25th anniversary on the North Shore, again, this year and we will love it just as much as we did that very first night in Howie's cabin, #6 in Croftville. While we won't spend our time at Howie's because he is gone, we will spend our time in the Best Western right on the water's edge.

I stumbled across your page address from the newsgroup service. Somewhere on AOL I was directed to the newsgroup on the promise of being able to find instructions on using my AT&T connection to get to AOL. Lo and behold, your address was referenced on many postings. Your page had all the information I needed and I am now saving 120.00$/yr. and at least 5-30 minutes a day working between the two. I don't know that you recieve any sort of reimbursment for your efforts, but I hope you are taking satisfaction in knowledge that you are helping people. I wanted to personally thank you.
I do have one question, if you have time to respond. Can you give me the 'address' to that newsgroup where I found you web page address? I also saw postings(I didn't read them) that made referrence to an MSN/AT&T connection. I also have MSN, and because my time is limited I never seem to use it or check it. Since I have paid for a full year in advance it is silly to cancel it(MSN doesn't do refunds).
I have searched for a couple of hours and can't seem to find it or the initial reference to it on AOL. I appreciate any direction you can give me in this matter. If you are too busy, thanks anyway for helping with the AOL situation.

Being a transplanted North-Shore-type (orig. from Schroeder area),
now working as a Network Management Engineer for Allina, I occasionally get 'homesick' and dump 'MN Arrowhead' into a search engine and see what spits out. You are to be commended on producing the finest North Shore page I've seen to date. I also find it interesting that we're both 40, live in Richfield, like dogs and cats, and work in the computer industry -- I also worked for Rosemount for a brief time in '79.

Comments: For some upcoming happenings to add. The Chisago Lakes are is hosting it's festival of the Lakes on Januray 25th and 26th. They will have events on the lakes like hotair balloon races, dogsled rides, craft fair on the lake, and many other events. Two weeks later Feb. 6th and 7th will be the Hudson Hotair Affair, again may crafts, ice carvings, parade, hotair balloon races, balloon moon glow, and many other events. I have also set up a balloon race for the Turtle Lake winter fest, with "The St. Croix Casino" the last week in February 21st-23rd. Again, they have evnts like Snow shoe races, Carraige rides, softball in the snow, Ice carving contest, and a Hot Air Balloon race.. Who said Minnesota is dead in the winter.
