I clicked on Some Children See Him just because I had never
heard of it before.

I had not intended to download the file.

I started working on my webpage and almost started crying because
it was so beautiful. I know I will be able to include it in one of my pages.

Most of us still honor and revere these words from the Declaration of Independence:

"We holds these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,..."

Unfortunately, a rapidly growing minority no longer truly believes in these foundational principles, including many who call themselves republicans. In principle the Republican Party platform is a worthy document. However, in practice, many party leaders and legislators lack the courage to stand up for these time-proven principles.

Many grassroots republicans have fought the good fight, for years, to positively influence the party establishment to stand up for principles over polls and perceived practicality. Lately, the problem has grown worse, despite recent clear signals from the voters (Ventura’s election, for example) that they are fed up with this hypocritical lack of courage, from both major parties.

After striving for over 35 years, as an active republican, working shoulder-to-shoulder with many other good republicans, to encourage party leaders and candidates to stick up for republican principles, I’ve made the very tough and final decision to leave the party.

After much reflection, fasting and prayer, my family and I have decided that I will run, as an independent candidate, for the 2nd Congressional District seat in Minnesota, now held by a democrat.

My campaign will be lean, simple and straight forward. I will stick to the issues with no personally attacks nor mudslinging. I will only accept donations from individuals, no pacs. If elected I will vote on principle, not polls.

I firmly believe in and will vote based on the following principles:

1- All persons, born and unborn, have the basic, God-given, unalienable right to life. No government entity (executive, legislative, nor judicial) has the authority to take this basic right to life away.

2- The Congress has only the power to legislate those matters specifically outlined in the Constitution.

All others belong to state and local goverments.

3- The federal government has NO business in education. Local school districts can do much more, for much less, and much more effectively. The U.S. Department of Education should be eliminated. Parents, teachers and locally elected school boards have the basic right and responsibility to determine ALL matters of local education.

4- It is my firm personal belief that we need to return God to the classroom. But, this decision should be made locally and not mandated by any government or through legislation.

5- The federal income tax was unconstitutional when it was instituted and, in principle, still is. It should be abolished and replaced with a simple and fair national sales tax, similar to state sales taxes.

6- Constitutionally, one of the few responsibilities that Congress does have jurisdiction over is our national defense. I believe that strength leads to peace. We should get out of the United Nations, IMF, GATT, Nafta and all other unconstitutional, illegal international organizations, treaties, and agreements, which greatly undermine our national sovereignty

7- The 2nd Amendment clearly indicates that ALL law-abiding adults have the God-given, unalienable, permanent right to keep and bear arms, as citizen soldiers and for self protection.
