PERSONAL COMPUTER EXPERIENCE

Excellent knowledge and experience with personal computers including:

  • HTML Authoring

I have created and maintained an extensive set of Web pages on my own virtual domain server. "The Woodshed" at http://deckernet.com/shed/ is my main Web page and consists of more than 100 sub-pages. It is basically an Internet index with lots of quick loading graphics, photos, MIDI music files, and thousands of links to fun and useful places on the Net. It has been featured in both the Minneapolis Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press newspapers, as well as by several magazines and on-line organizations. I also maintain the Richfield High School Alumni Website on the deckernet.com server.

I use the Hot Dog Professional code-level HTML editor to create and edit my Web pages. I also use server side Perl programming, and have several Perl scripts running on my site.

  • Other Computer Skills

Proficient in Windows 3.11, 95/98, NT and XP, DOS, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook, HTML, numerous Internet applications, several photo imaging applications, and hundreds of other Windows applications. I use VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) extensively in the development mode in my current job. In addition to the skills that I already have, I am highly trainable in any form of computer work.

ABOUT ME

I am an intelligent, energetic, self-motivated, intuitive, detail oriented person who is looking for a stable place to "nest" for the rest of my career. I have a well-rounded background in both retail and manufacturing administration and support, including management experience and extensive computer experience. I draw on this background to get the job done, and get it done well. I take pride in my work, and in a team environment, I take pride in the accomplishments of my team.

On a more personal level, I am a "joiner". If your company has a golf or bowling league or a picnic committee, I’ll be on it. If you are looking for volunteers for something, I’ll be first in line.

Please Note

I left my job at Walgreens in February 1996 because my mother had a stroke and needed 24-hour care. At that time I began concentrating on developing my Internet presence and honing my Internet skills in an effort to work out of my home. After my mother passed away in September 1996, I rejoined the workforce.
